Congratulations to our 6 FLEX finalists! We are proud of our GLOW alumni's hard work and well deserved success. Well done girls!
On one hot day in August 2014, I was spending time with my friends when I saw an unknown number calling my cell phone. It was the call that radically changed my life. Ruso Zabakhidze was calling. She informed me that I became one of 50 lucky girls chosen to participate in GLOW summer camp.
In short, there were unforgettable moments spent at camp, returning home, and thinking that this was just the beginning and that I should keep spirit of GLOW camp alive and spread it around. I established a GLOW club that was only for girls. At first, I introduced GLOW camp, spread information about it, and shared my knowledge and experience with girls from my school. However, later I reached out to other schools in Akhaltsikhe as well. We were organising various events for 3 main reasons:
1. We wanted to take at least one step to form and develop ourselves as active citizens;
2. We wanted to become agents of change and help solve at least small problems in our community;
3. Finally, all of us sincerely wanted me to become a GLOW Ambassador.
Together we reached all 3 of these goals. Becoming an ambassador was a big challenge and at the same time a big responsibility for me. This made my team and I more motivated to be socially active and organise more GLOW events.
We are proud, that whoever from our community you might ask, everyone will have an answer about GLOW.
Recently, I participated in the first ever GLOW Ambassadors' conference where I gained great experience, knowledge, and skills. Now I'm inspired with many ideas that I'm going to implement and make happen in the near future.
Thanks to GLOW for changing my life for the better.
